ST. BERNARD INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY. Severe weather (ice, snow, hail, tornado warnings, loss of power, etc.) might reasonably endanger the safety of parishioners attempting to come to the parish for services and activities. In case of inclement weather, closure of all parish services will usually follow the decision to close the parish offices. The decision to close or postpone parish activities rests solely with the Parish Manager and the Pastor.
Should the decision be made to close parish facilities, all doors/entrances will be locked and secured to prevent entry by any person including those who may wish to venture out into the weather and chance entry. Additionally, traffic cones will be placed in the entrance to the driveway to alert anyone attempting to enter that the facility is closed.
In the event of canceling parish activities and services, the Parish Manager or designated person will alert news agencies of the closure. If you suspect that the facility may be closed, please tune to the following media for confirmation of closure:
DFSM-TV5 Channel 5
KNWA Channel 9/51 or 8/24
Bella Vista Local TV Channel 16
KHOG-TV Channel 29/40
KBVA Radio FM 106.5
NOTE: On occasion, either the station may not respond to the closure notice, or contact cannot be made. Please check with other media for confirmation if you do not see St. Bernard included in closure notices.
